What's a Little Competition Amongst Office Mates? (Part I)

So, what can a little competition tell us about office behavior and energy efficiency? Well, here at PECI, we’re hoping quite a bit. PECI recently completed an exciting in-house behavioral study that involved a two-week competition—aptly named The Kilowatt Cup—pitting each PECI office floor against the other to see who could reduce their plug load energy the most.  Here was our call to action:

Energy Monitoring at PECI—Why Do We Care?

Here at PECI we take energy use seriously.  In fact, we monitor exactly how much energy we use in our office space.  This isn’t unusual, as many newer buildings have this capability, and even some older buildings have been upgraded to be able to do this.  But we are unique with respect to the level of detail we have with our ability to monitor how much energy we use.
