These days it simply doesn’t make sense to purchase an appliance that isn’t energy-efficient. So how do we get that message across? As part of our comprehensive residential energy-efficiency programs, we educate retailers, consumers and trade allies on the benefits of high-efficiency appliances, while offering cash-back incentives that encourage a behavioral shift. In the process, we increase consumer awareness of utilities that are working hard to maximize energy savings for their customers.
Appliance Rebates
PECI designs and implements customer incentive programs that incorporate everyday household appliances, such as clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, furnaces and boilers.
Recycling Incentives
Refrigerator and freezer recycling programs help get old, energy-consuming appliances off the grid. Our recycling programs often operate side-by-side with our appliance incentive programs, offering customers an easy way to dispose of their old units. PECI partners with local recycling facilities to ensure refrigerant chemicals are decommissioned and disposed properly.
Contractor Incentives
PECI offers incentives to program-certified contractors to install energy-efficient HVAC appliances. Contractor incentives are packaged in tandem with homeowner incentives to encourage participation from both parties.
Marketing
PECI’s marketing campaigns complement each of our appliance incentive programs. Community Education & Outreach
PECI plans community involvement at local events to raise awareness of our clients’ appliance programs and increase program participation. Trade Ally Training
We empower local retail staff to promote our appliance incentive programs to their customers, boosting sales of energy-efficient appliances. The WashWise program, a collaborative of electric and water utilities in the Puget Sound region, has issued incentives for more than 143,000 clothes washers since its inception in 2007. The program has consistently exceeded its annual goals and in total has generated 32.4 million kWh savings and saved 919 million gallons of water.
Since 2004, PECI has helped the Energy Trust of Oregon recycle over 47,000 refrigerators and freezers.
Since 2007, the Questar Gas Programs have issued rebates for nearly 200,000 energy-efficient appliances and new homes, saving 9,846,382 Therms.
