The NCBC has always taken great strides to produce the premier conference on building commissioning while creating as little environmental impact as possible. On the 15th anniversary year, the NCBC is proud to announce the official PECI Green Conference Policy. Working with partners such as the Climate Trust and Global Green Sponsor Working Buildings, the conference is taking steps such as requiring hotel recycling programs, limiting direct mailings, using only 100% recycled post-consumer products, and offering carbon offsets to conference attendees.

In addition, the conference is asking that speakers provide presentations in the form of PDFs for conference attendees in order to limit printed handouts. We are asking exhibitors to try and limit their giveaways, to focus on reusable or recycled giveaways, and to use recycled paper and print double-sided wherever possible.

The NCBC would like to recognize our first Global Green Sponsor, Working Buildings. Their sponsorship dollars will go toward offsetting the CO2 created by conference activities like plane travel, ground transportation, and hotel stays. Their contribution will ensure that NCBC is making an impact without the addition of harmful emissions to our environment.

A press release outlining the new Green Conference Policy will be posted on the conference website. Please contact Liz Fischer at lfischer@peci.org if you would like a copy of the press release or the official PECI Green Conference Policy.

Conference attendees have the opportunity when registering to make a donation to offset carbon emissions created by their own travel to and from the conference.
