How can the commissioning team help set the stage for effective long-term building operation? Properly commissioned buildings may perform well at the time of turnover to the owner; however, there is often little deliberate effort on the part of owners, builders or commissioning providers to hand over the building in a way that sets the operators up to continue running the facility in accordance with the design intent/basis of design. In this session a commissioning provider, a contractor, a design professional and a building operator will discuss what they’re doing and promoting, from early design through the first year of occupancy, to facilitate effective turnover to the operators.
