San Diego Retrocommissioning Program
The San Diego Retrocommissioning Program offers financial incentives and technical assistance to help San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) commercial customers save energy and money through retrocommissioning. The Program’s Field Energy Analyst provides turnkey services to support owners throughout the retrocommissioning process and ensure high-quality results. The financial incentives cover the cost of the RCx investigation and offer additional support for implementation of identified measures and training for building owners and managers. In 2004-2005, SDG&E led the way with its pilot program and is building on that program’s success with the current San Diego RCx Program.
The Program has received applications for more than 30,000,000 square feet of commercial building space in the San Diego area, including hospitals, hotels, office buildings, meeting facilities, and museums. In total, the Program aims to complete retrocommissioning projects on 20,000,000 square feet, saving more than 17,000,000 kWh.
