Energy Trust ENERGY STAR® New Homes
ENERGY STAR qualified homes are at least 15% more efficient than homes built to Oregon code standards, making them some of the most energy-efficient homes on the market today. The benefits include enhanced comfort, healthier indoor air, substantial energy savings over the life of the home and peace of mind knowing your home has been independently tested and certified to meet ENERGY STAR standards.
The ENERGY STAR New Homes programs use education and marketing efforts to educate both prospective homeowners and homebuilders. On-the-ground partnerships with builders, retailers, utilities, and manufacturers strive toward the common goal of increasing consumer awareness of energy efficiency in homes, with the ultimate goal of increasing demand for new homes built at or above the ENERGY STAR standard.
The ENERGY STAR New Homes Program includes targeted marketing and program operations for single-family homes, manufactured housing projects, and multifamily projects. The program draws on current information about building and contractor infrastructure, building practices, building codes, existing program initiatives, technical capabilities of the building trades, incentives for energy-efficient building practices, consumer awareness, and builder or developer awareness to create local program options that will succeed.
