Change a Light, Change the World Fundraiser
The Change a Light, Change the World fundraiser unites energy savings and fundraising to promote energy awareness within a community. The Change a Light, Change the World fundraiser assists community organizations, schools, and foundations in raising much needed dollars by selling ENERGY STAR® CFLs; providing them with an alternative to the products traditionally sold through fundraisers, such as candy, gift wrap, and magazines. To date, participants have sold over 9,600 bulbs throughout their communities – that’s over 455,000 kWh of energy saved!
Winner of the 2008 Excellence in ENERGY STAR Promotion award, the Change a Light, Change the World fundraiser strives for excellence continuously meeting the needs of our utility partners. We provide a unique method for delivering energy savings through the residential sector while at the same creating excellent public and community relations opportunities for the utilities that are implementing the program.
Are you a customer in Portland General Electric or Pacific Power electric utility territories? Partnering with Energy Trust of Oregon, the Change a Light, Change the World fundraiser has already helped 40 schools, congregations, and organizations raise over $20,700 through the fundraiser.
