AirCare Plus (PG&E)
AirCare Plus has been operational in Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) territory since 2006. It is a comprehensive HVAC efficiency program specifically designed to garner savings in one of the most hard-to-reach markets— small and medium-sized commercial customers who use rooftop units, specifically those who use service contracts to maintain them. AirCare Plus is the only program in the field that is designed specifically to honor existing service contracts, building a program model through the most effective use of the contractor network.
AirCare Plus includes training, tools, quality control and incentives. This state-of-the-art program works through the existing contractor network to deliver services to customers by providing advanced training for technicians to optimize efficiency of existing RTUs, and to install high-efficiency units.
The Program follows a sophisticated 4-phase approach to gradually integrate energy efficiency into contractor practices. This phased approach helps HVAC service companies effectively adapt their business model to be successful with the Program. The Program’s methodology is tailored to the business structure of HVAC contractors for this market, and is based on PECI’s substantial experience opening the market for AirCare Plus in Southern California Edison and Avista Utilities.
