Refrigeration Trade Ally Program
Since 2006, PECI has worked as a subcontractor to SDG&E to implement refrigeration market mobilization services through their Trade Ally Program. PECI covers refrigeration services in grocery stores, supermarkets, convenience stores, butcher shops/meat markets, fish markets, small independent restaurants/cafes, drugstores, liquor stores, retail bakeries, caterers, cafeterias, and assisted-living facilities in the SDG&E territory. The mobilization services include technical and business consultation by a Refrigeration Market Specialist, back-office support for contractors, and facilitation of the overall rebate process.
From the first audit through the final retrofit, the Refrigeration Market Specialist works with decision makers to demonstrate the value of investing in energy efficiency measures. By presenting compelling technical and ROI information, the Refrigeration Market Specialist gains the trust of the decision makers and motivates them to invest in efficiency retrofits. In addition, the value of the PECI Inform-to-Invest relationships has gone beyond single retrofits to provide venues for promoting many other SDG&E opportunities. These have included other retrofit programs, as well as new construction and demand response opportunities for the future.
Over 16 million annual kWh in energy savings is expected from the Trade Ally Program.
