EnergySmart Grocer Program – PG&E
PECI designed and implemented the EnergySmart Grocer (ESG) Program to help grocers save money with energy-efficient equipment. The Program provides grocers with energy audits and information about efficient technologies, operations, and maintenance that illuminate the possibilities and impact of increasing efficiency in their stores. Using a consultative approach, the Program’s Field Energy Analysts educate grocers on the financial benefits of energy efficiency, and work closely with them to encourage the appropriate purchase and installation of energy- efficient equipment. Grocers learn to view EnergySmart Grocer as a long-term partner in energy efficiency, and rely on the Program’s technical expertise to help guide and influence efficiency decisions. From the simplest of measures, such as gaskets and strip curtains, to the most complex, such as energy-management controls and multiplex refrigeration systems, the Program ensures the measures implemented are in both the grocers’ and the utilities’ best interests. With this focus, expertise, reliability, and proven track record, EnergySmart Grocer quickly demonstrates value to grocer and utility alike.
