Job before PECI: Engineer

Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Iowa State University; M.S. from Energy and Resources Group, UC Berkeley

Hannah feels lucky that finding her calling in life was easy – she has known for a long time that energy and resource conservation was it. She even worked for a summer at an oil refinery just to see what the industry was up against.  Jobs in energy auditing and facility engineering led her to see the commissioning industry as a means for putting efficiency and performance into common practice.

Through previous work at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory where she researched diagnostic tools for HVAC systems, Hannah presented a paper on the topic at the NCBC conference hosted by PECI. That was the magnet that drew Hannah and PECI together.  She arrived as a project engineer and has worked her way to a director role where she carries forth PECI’s long tradition of technical expertise.

Throughout her engineering career, Hannah has bridged the gap between the technical and non-technical, working with technical teams and program managers to ensure a project’s success. Hannah finds her work at PECI personally fulfilling not only because of PECI’s broader energy efficiency mission, but because of the people she works with: “They’re top notch. It’s not just a job - we live out our life goals through our work.”

A Midwest transplant to the Northwest, Hannah loves getting out and enjoying Oregon’s landscape: running, road biking, hiking, snow shoeing, gardening, and photography.
